The 2014 Chrysler Town & Country is just about the finest minivan it has ever been. Inside, it's also better than ever, with standard leather seats and dual 9-inch overhead screens for the back seat's built-in Blu-ray DVD player. The core attributes of this year's model include flexible hauling space that can go from packing seven people, to 140-plus cubic-feet of stuff, and back, without unbolting or removing any seats. The Town & Country's exterior seems to be a bit frozen in time, with headlights that have the same wide-eyed stare as was popular in the early 2000s on the Dodge Caliber. 

Power and Handling of the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country

The 2014 Town & Country is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 that's rated at 283 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. It has plenty of power under the hood and delivers quick manual shifts, too, with the automatic's shifter in AutoStick mode. Anyone who expects that minivans are nothing more than porky, tippy kid shuttles will be pleasantly surprised with the Town & Country's handing, with its excellent body control and crisp steering. The only option that affects the handling is the tow prep pack, which also includes the rear air suspension. It does pretty well on fuel, with its 25 mpg rating.

Conclusions

Compared to its mechanical twin, the similar, bargain-priced Dodge Grand Caravan, the 2014 Town & Country is pricier. However, it also comes with a tremendous amount of standard features, including a DVD entertainment system and leather upholstery.
